I've really been liking the 2-step DnB/Hardcore hybrid stuff I have been making lately, so I made a few more original tracks in that style and compiled them into an EP. I also wanted to would give Summer Breeze, the first track I made in this style, a proper release and name the EP after it. The EP also uses mostly the same artwork from the Summer Breeze single, which might be a little lazy, but I really like it and wanted to use it again. I am very happy with this collection of tracks, and am excited to make more songs in this style.
For Summer Breeze, I wanted to make a DnB song using the same production style and arrangement that I would use in a UK Hardcore track. The end result is skewed more towards the DnB side, but I feel I more or less accomplished what I originally set out to do with this track. The vocals where a last minute addition that I think really helped complete the song and made it sound and flow much better than if I had left it as an instrumental like I originally intended. I tried around 7 (million) or so vocals before I settled on these, I like the theme and they flow really well with the already existing chords.
Guiding Light is the second track that I started in the style of Summer Breeze and I was actually a little stuck on it for a while. The ideas where not really coming to me at first, but I was eventually able to get something going that I really like. This song is written in a major scale, which is something that I normally don't do, I just have a hard time making things I like the sound of, but this time I was able to come up with something I like. I could not come up with a title for this one, but eventually I settled on Guiding Light after looking some artwork with the same name by Alena Aenami.
Another song named after some Alena Aenami art. I usually turn to her work for inspiration, really fantastic paintings. I am particularly proud of Endless, I think I did a really good job on the melody. I actually had the vocal samples in before I knew what the title was going to be and kind of struggled to think of something that fit. Eventually after seeing the Aenami painting, I thought Endless was a really cool title and fits the vocals well enough.
INB4 >Endless >Ends.
Finally, Autumn Breeze is mostly the same song as Summer Breeze, but the melodys and everything (except the stuff that would sound terrible) is in reverse. I was going to call it Winter Breeze, since that is actually the opposite of Summer, but I like Autumn more and it is closer, so I went with that. I don't normally mirror stuff like this, but I think it has an interesting sound and was a cool way to finish off the EP.

My type of hardcore this! Loads of uplifting melodies, pianos, boss hardcore bass and easy going vocal work. How it should be!
Love it fellas! Andy Myers
