about

The main neuro bass was made using Harmor and its sample loading function, I forget what sample I used as the source, I think it was a robot sound or something. The second bass that comes in during the second half of the drops and the sub kick where both made with my Arturia Microbrute synthesizer, the analog warmth and big bottom end really work there magic here. The main chord sounds where made with Sawer, a fun emulation of the Polivoks synthesizer, I tuned the sub oscillator to a fifth to get a nice harmonic sound from the chords. The main vocal was made using the Atari speech synthesizer running in the WinSTon emulator.

The main drums are pretty much your standard affair, I did however put a phaser on one of the loops to give it some movement, something I have never done before. I through in a classic breakbeat that comes in every now and then, as sort of a reference to classic jungle. The distorted sound during the transition on the second part of the drops was made using my Arturia Microbrute using a bandpass filter, taking full advantage of the filter’s BruteFactor. The chime sound during the transition on the second drop was sampled from my Gameboy Advance. The pad in the breakdown is a Nexus preset and the vocal texture was made using Edison’s awesome blur function.

The song was made for a contest on The FLipside Forum [ www.theflipsideforum.com/index.php ]. I really had a lot of fun making it. If you have any questions about the song or any of the production techniques used, don’t be afraid to ask.
